I wrote Grand Hotel sometime around 1989, as part of a song cycle. It's a downer, but I still like it and a pretty girl requested it. Beat Up Truck came a few years later and was actually composed the the rhythm of a hotdog vendor cart delivery truck's ailing motor. It sometimes aspires to a Spanish rhythm.
Two of my originals, with some wonderful jammers I met on the stage. Second time playing for a crowd since a heart attack and then covid... felt great. Aqy's little community sparkles.
I also highly recommend Kingfisher Seafood Restaurant. A wonderful experience. The fish and chips and the lemony cheesecake were superb. I'm giving them a free link in the sidebar to thank them for providing such a wonderful venue, and dealing with temperamental musicians all night. Good people, good food.
